Here is my entry for this week’s 100 Word Challenge for Grown Ups. It is a weekly challenge where you can use up to 100 words to write a creative piece that is then shared with other writers.
The sun shone but the Eskimos did not panic. They had studied well reading up on the history of the disaster as well as checking the new technology that was now available. Of course it had not been tested in real conditions but the trials were promising.
Once the forecasters confirmed the warm spell was imminent, the neighbourhood had ‘double cubed’ their igloos. They made sure the refrigeration units were working because the fishing holes would expand with the warmth. In a way, it was an exciting time but the risks were still there. The sun had always won before!
